A series of J.C. Penney ads featuring Ellen DeGeneres made their debut last night during the Oscars telecast. The five ads show the comedienne traveling back in time, imagining worlds where shopping was done differently.
The ads have been the focus of debate since OneMillionMoms.com launched a boycott campaign against the retail chain, accusing the company of alienating customers with their choice of a lesbian spokesperson.
If anything, the deceptively-named defenders of traditional families have swung public opinion in the opposite direction. The retailer has stood firmly by Ellens side, and DeGeneres even took time out of her show to thank fans for their massive outpouring of support.

(13,460 posts)What idiots? Those ads were funny. What on earth about them could possibly be considered "wrong" for these "moms" to let their kids see? Of course this reveals that it isn't about the kids, it's about their desire to rule through hate. For them, I'm sure the burger commercial with the cleavage hanging out all over was just fine, but a very normally dressed, funny Ellen was not.
Idiots.
