coffee intoxication

I'm posting this for your interest, it may affect others.
I've known for a long time that I am sensitive to caffeine. esp. sine I got older (I'm 68)
Recently I began meditating, and I noticed that drinking coffee increases my anger and irritability, even one cup or 2.
So I've been cutting back.
Keeping it generally to bet. one and 2 cups. (of weak instant)- spaced out over a few hours.
and that is usually ok.

Yesterday I got it into my head to clean up apt, and decided to drug myself with 3 strong cups of coffee drunk in a short time.
it really worked.
I worked on my task from 9 am to 3 pm, with little break and no food.

This morning I woke up and felt like I had a hang-over.
It wasn't actually unpleasant, but it was weird, and i didn't feel "like myself".

So I realize it was the coffee and today, am drinking a lot of water and tea (and no coffee). and will walk later, as one source said exercise helps to get it out of body.
another sources recommends vit c. Another source recommends 32 oz of water in TEN minutes, which I think would make me throw up.

I'm pretty sure no permanent damage done, and I will never do it again --
but it is something I never experienced before.
(except when drinking alcohol.)

working on some major projects. I started feeling like sh**, and needed more and more. Finally, I broke the habit and felt much better.

I always hear good things about green tea. I don't like the taste.

Older than you and probably have been drinking coffee each day since I was preteen. Now I have all sorts of medical woes and still drink 2 cups a day. I'm addicted, but I've tried the non-caffeinated stuff and couldn't stand it. Tried tea and just doesn't suit me except in the evenings. Probably going to go out with a coffee cup in my hand and a racing heart.

now I know not to drink coffee.
I also cannot drink wine.
1/4 glass will give me a hang-over like I have now.
damn--over 30 hours.

well, it is addictive. (coffee).
You'd probably be healthier without it, but then you know that.

6. Slamming yourself with caffeine when you're not used to it

can lead to some pretty alarming side effects like tachycardia and chest pain. One cup of normal strength coffee might have done you as much good and without the aftereffects.

You don't need water intoxication and you don't need vitamin C unless you chainsmoked a pack of cigarettes with those cups of coffee. All you need is to go back to what you were doing and to remember this as a learning experience. Chances are excellent that your hangover is really sleep deprivation, that you didn't get the deep, restful sleep you needed last night.

By the way, switching to tea only substitutes theophylline for caffeine unless it's caffeine free herbal tea. They're related chemicals with the same effects.

7. Yep. I used to get tachycardia.

Would even happen after I'd fallen asleep. It would be so bad, it would wake me up. Kind of frightening.

I lived on caffeine and sugar for a couple decades. When I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia and had to give them up, the tachycardia went away. But I still have a cup once in a while (or a diet Coke). It helps when I have a persistent head ache.

Also found out there is a history of arrhythmia in my family so best not aggravate it. But damn do I miss that morning pick me up.
