because the flu season won't peak until later and the vaccine weakens a bit over time. I'm waiting until then.

a few weeks for immunity, ie 'coverage' to build up...

But I'm getting antsy, don't want local dispensers to run out. Wait a week or so, but 1st make calls to see about supply.

COVID-19 makes for a not "usual" flu season. CDC certainly recommends waiting no longer than the end of October and younger, healthy people should probably get it earlier.

I'll wait another month. My union usually does a flu shot drive around mid October but I haven't seen anything listed on my state agency's website. If they're not doing it at my work place this year I'll just get it at Walgreen's.

If you are older and have reason to suspect you have immunity issues (have experienced waning immunity), then wait no longer than end of October, but given COVID-19 will be co-circulating, most won't want to wait.

I’m taking my school age kid to get one in a few weeks.

We got the flu last year, even though we’d been vaccinated, although it was much less severe than if we’d now been vaccinated. My kid was in Public school. He got it first, and then me. He got Tamiflu through his pediatrician. I toughed it our for 5 days. It was not any where like the full on, no vaccine flu.

GET YOUR FLU SHOT ASAP!

They said to get the flu shot as soon as possible once available. I did so 3 weeks ago and had no problems. I'm glad it is over and done with.

Good luck!

10. Got my flu and Pnumonia shot

In late August.

If the flu is raging strong by March I'll get it again.

However I had a reaction to both shots
My arm got red and swollen like I had cellulitis.
It took 4 days for that to go away. Sometimes my arm itches even today.

And I had flu symptoms for a day, body aches, fever, tired and headaches. It lasted a day and a half.

Don't get Pnumonia and flu shots in the same arm.

Lesson learned.

At least my immune system reacted. Good sign however uncomfortable.

and she also told me last week that vaccine is designed to be protective throughout the entire flu season and protection does not end too early even if you get the shot in late August or September.
