So many documentaries are available on Kanopy!

On edit: Also watched Tennessee Williams's The Rose Tatoo. Anna Magnani won best actress and she is hilarious!

Just remembered another one: Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood. Very interesting documentary about how gay Hollywood stars managed to discreetly be gay back in the day.

And it's maybe cause he never admitted to be being gay ... but EVERYONE knew he was.

And he was in people's living rooms, night after night, and he was beloved in his role.

The center square, Mr. Paul Lynde.

He was actually the first person I came to 'realize' as 12 yo kid was a gay man. And I loved the dude already before I knew it, so like my first impression was 'wow gay people are awesome and hilarious'.

I think him ... just being himself in that role for so long did a LOT to get people across the country to accept gay people.

Charles Nelson Reilly helped a lot in that way as well.

AFA as TV went (obviously theatre was quite different) game shows were the only place people could be obviously gay in the 70's.

I just haven't used it until recently and didn't know their policy. Still, lots of interesting movies.

The movie choices are pretty limited around here, but I mostly watch their "The Great Courses" videos anyway. Those are unlimited each month too.

We also got pulled into a course about the Ottoman Empire earlier in the COVID-19 period. It was something in history I felt I needed to know more about--for a while.
