I got Hulu to watch Handmaid's Tale but I am very pleased that I can watch current TV as well.

The interesting variety of original programming makes it worthwhile to have all 3.

It is a heck of a lot cheaper than cable!!!

My husband who thinks this is all ridiculous was satisfied with just over the air (we get 6 channels only) and Netflix. My so gave me a subscription to Hulu so I could watch Handmaids Tale then I picked it up after the first year. We now have Amazon, Hulu and Netflix and I love all the different things we can see. I have a pretty bad case of tinnitus and keeping the TV on at a low level helps keep me from losing my mind. I also sleep with it on quietly so having different things to either ignore, watch or sleep through is helpful.

We had DirecTV and this is def cheaper than that and we never watched most of what came in their packages.

2. I thought Netflix was better than Prime. I only have Prime now. I may go back to Netflix to catch

up on a few shows, then dump them again. I'm just being a cranky ol' tightass that won't give them much of my money. I also have thousands of DVD's, hundreds I haven't watched yet, courtesy of Netflix and a burner. Yo Ho ho as I like to say!

26. You cannot 'download' things from Netflix via streaming. I believe they're talking about rental DVDs

I read that they allow it so people can use the recordings for instance in their cars so the kids can keep occupied. But the recordings are programmed to disappear from the dvd after a short time. Maybe several days at the most.

I thought that you may have found a way to permanently save Netflix downloaded to dvd.

3. Prime Video is a great bonus to having Amazon Prime ... I wouldn't pay for it just for the streaming

but because I like my Amazon stuff to come fast, with no delivery fee ... I have Prime Video.

Netflix is worth the cost in terms of quality of content, no question to me.

I also have HBOMax, which I also find to be worth the $15/month, but just. If $15/month was dear to me, I'd probably skip it.

I don't have Hulu so someone else can speak to that.

Overall my most worthwhile streaming purchase is Spotify for $9.99, which I enjoy all day, every day.

9. Hulu is great if you like network shows...they don't do cable but the day after a show is on

network, it is on HULU.

I do hate the fragmentation of the streaming services. There is a limit to how much I'm willing to pay altogether. I feel as if those three are reasonable, given the amount of watching I do.

20. Netflix in a runaway

I have Netflix, Prime, HBO Max and Crunchyroll and Funimation for my anime. For pure content, Netflix is a runaway winner, IMO.

Edit to say we also have Disney, but only because of wifey.

Prime was a waste of money for me as I always get free shipping anyway. Plus, I’d click on a show then find out I had to pay to watch it, very irritating. Got HULU for Handmaids Tale and then dropped it. ACORN has great shows from England and Australia. Plus they have new shows all the time.

but I don't use it all that much (a lot of overlap with Prime in movies).

HBO Max on the six month special. Not sure if I will rejoin when it comes up in June. It is a great service though.
I have Disney Plus where I have a year special.

If I dip into some of the others, I can get 7 days free through both Amazon and Hulu.

I watch Netflix when I am at my mom's house. I may watch it a few times at my own house, but not regurally.

I will keep Prime for one more year to finish Bosch up. After that I am not sure.

If Disney Plus keeps the Star Wars and MCU shows up, then I will stay with them on the long term. My wife and I also like watching the older Disney movies.

Peacock pulled its Universal monster content so it is of little interest to me.
Paramount Plus doesn't have much that I am interested in. I was less than impressed with the Star Trek and Twilight Zone offerings.

There are a lot of old movies that are PVOD. I wonder if the streaming services will eventually get the strea,omg licenses to boost sales. That is what I like about HBO Max and Disney - they both have a bunch of their classic movies.

Great offering of films. Especially if you enjoy foreign movies and indie films. I've had it forever and still find a ton of movies to watch. And I watch a ton of them--like more than 365 movies a year!

Netflix has original content on streaming plus a very large selection of DVD/BluRay by mail.
Prime has original content plus rental options plus premium channels like HBO and Showtime that are cheaper than cable companies
Hulu has network shows and a live streaming option for people who want to cut the cord for live TV

I also use Starry 5G internet for the past 2 years so I have literally cut the cord. Everything is wireless for me.

34. Netflix, Prime and HBO Max

The biggest problem with Netflix is finding an obscure show you might like. For example, I liked The Stranger but they never suggested The Five, even though it's a very similar type of story. I had to find it by searching for Stranger's author (Harlan Corbin) and discovered a bunch of stuff, some foreign-language, based on his works.

Prime Video is great for old series and movies and I started using it a while after getting Amazon Prime just for the shipping.

HBO Max was "free" because I already subscribe to HBO on cable. I was delighted to see they include the TCM library as well.

I suggest Philo...it is a great bargain at $20.00 a month and has an unlimited cloud DVR. I really like it...there are certain channels I really like such as Hallmark's mystery channel and the Travel Channel. You get these with Philo. You can also watch it anywhere. Also, check with your internet provider or cell phone provider as HBO max is free with ATT's best internet. If you roll it in with the phone...you can get the internet for $59.00 and get HBO max for free in my area (Cleveland). You can also get HBO max with some wireless plans...I know ATT has one...I am pretty sure other providers do too.

I had sling for years...both orange and blue, but when hubs lost his job I needed to make a change for financial reasons. Also, I needed a break from the news which causes me great anxiety at times so I switched to Philo. But I have Peacock and Paramount which gives me access to local news and in Peacock's case many of the MSNBC shows...I think Peacock has a version that has commercials and is free.
