(53,061 posts)1. I liked it. It was written by Harley Peyton a classmate friend of mine.
We went to grade school, junior high and high school together.
We weren't close but knew each other well. At our 15th HS reunion he sought me out because he had heard that I was living in Thailand and had a factory. I had lost track of everyone there and asked him what he was doing. He kind of chuckled because he was the most famous graduate of our large class, he was writing TV scripts for something called Twin Peaks and had gotten an Emmy for it.
He wrote Bandits and also the story for Friends with Benefits.
The irony is that he first turned me onto Thailand when he played the crown prince in Gonzaga U. production of "The King and I" in about 1965. I went to see him in that and read everything I could about Thailand after that. I became good friends with one of that crown prince (later king) grandsons.

(4,400 posts)2. LOL @ writing for Twin Peaks ... Talk about uber-quirky.
"Bandits" became a family favorite and occasionally someone will still throw out a "Beavers and Ducks!!!"
Cool story, thanks for sharing.
