A Series of Unfortunate Event on Netflix. Anybody watch?

I thought it would be a good time passer while I'm on the bike at the gym, but the narrator, Patrick Warburton drove me crazy. I don't know what it was, maybe his monotone delivery, but after about 15 minutes, I couldn't watch anymore. Does he narrate throughout the whole series? He's listed as appearing in all 8 episodes. Is the series good enough that I should stick it out? Thanks.

We've knocked through 5 episodes? It's worth it - IF -you are familiar with the books or the first movie.

The first movie was supposed to be a franchise and condensed the first three episodes of the series into one movie. Franchise was cancelled for a reason. 10 pounds of shit in a 1 lb bag is not good.

Warburton works - especially -no spoilers - as you figure out WHO he is and WHY he is telling the story.

the others are all thumbs down. I am not familiar with the books or the movie, although I've heard of them. Right now I'm looking for uplifting and enjoyable. Enough darkness out there not to pile on more voluntarily. But again, thanks for your comments, I appreciate it.

watched through the first episode up to the point where the evil guy smacks one of the kids around...not amusing to me...I come from a childhood where such abuse was common...

of my time, particularly where there's an infant involved. Thanks for your thoughts. I hope you've been able to put the past behind you and live a good life.

..those poor kids never catch a break. maybe it all came together in the end but it was like watching one of those abused animal commercials the entire time.

I just seemed so gratuitously dark and creepy that was all I could focus on, when it started to get repetitive, I quit.

But my wife and I enjoyed it. Both of us are looking forward to the new season. And, we both thought Warburton was funny. But you know, to each their own. Dark humor isn't for everyone.....
