I'm binge watching Longmire
Just started season 3.
Already know I'll miss it when I've seen the whole thing.
Any suggestions of something comparable to watch afterwards?
Thanks

(25,816 posts)I originally could not make it through the first episode. And I live in NM, where it was filmed.
In fact, during the first season I was working on the information desk at the hospital in Santa Fe when a man came in, explained he was connected to that series (I forget what he told me his job was) and was wondering if he could get a newborn blanket to use in an episode. I told him to go upstairs to our maternity ward and tell them. A bit later he came back by, all smiles, with the blanket he needed.
And even though I never got into the series, I'm inclined to think well of it.

I got a good laugh from one online review that said one "plus" about the show
is the beautiful Wyoming scenery where the show is filmed.

(1,944 posts)I can't think of a series that has such a strong cast that you can really get to care about. And the stories, while basically just crime dramas are still intelligent and have the added interest of the culture of the area etc. Hell on Wheels, while not really comparable, was decent but a lot more violent and sometimes got kind of 'soapy'. Some good acting in it though--Christopher Heyerdahl was excellent as a creepy villian.
Can't come up with another one done in the US, but maybe there is something from Britain. The old Lovejoy series was enjoyable but mostly on the silly side--con man art dealer outwits the real baddies etc. Ian McShane was good in that one.
Keeping fingers crossed that the Longmire production company can find someone to do a couple of movies. I semi follow some of the cast members on Instagram and most of the main characters have said they would love to do more. Watching Robt Taylor and Adam Bartley (Ferg) hang out in a Mexican restaurant in LA, while trying to figure out how to do a live podcast to fans via their phones was a hoot.

(34,195 posts)I just checked Netflix and "Justified" is only available on DVD.
I just do the streaming, as some years ago I did the DVD plan and had so many problems getting the DVDs in a timely manner
and a couple times they did not get the ones I sent back to them.

(4,907 posts)Watched the first episode. I liked the characters. Thought the resolution came pretty quickly and easily, but it was the pilot, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on that one.
