4. What's a chip day? Is it a day when you have a milestone?

I have 9 years and 20 days, which is hard for me to believe, seems like only yesterday I was still struggling. And things aren't necessarily the way I'd like them and I have days when I'm discouraged, but I no longer think about drinking over them - and that's what I did, I drowned bad feelings. I continue to have gratitude and a lot of that comes from giving back. I'm GSR for a beginners' group and I hear some rough stories, but it helps to keep things green for me and it's a good opportunity for service. My other home group is a women's group where some have 20 or 30 years, but they still show up every week so I'm able to learn from them, too. Sometimes it's still One Day at a Time, but I don't feel the urge to drink - and I was never able to do that until I found AA.

....sometimes one hour at a time....sometimes less...........I think that the most powerful ideas at the meetings are 1. Don't Give Up
2. One Day at a Time
3. PLEASE....LISTEN IF YOU CAN. Listening is perhaps the most powerful learning tool there is.
