my wife has been diagnosed with is a rare one. Today she started chemo with gem/o
?) and another that is listed on her intake paperwork.
Our oncologist scheduled an orientation appointment prior to the chemo and during that he informed us that the placement of the cancer and the type hadn't been seen by anyone in his treatment circle. He shared the fact that her surgeons are also looking at this as an opportunity to work on something they haven't seen. We will be meeting with them in the morning and we'll discuss that. I believe he used the placement term "3a" when showing us the location on the bileary tree. He told us that there is no straight forward treatment plan that has been developed and we will be looking at being test subjects. He believes in aggressive treatment and we agree. There is no radiation being considered at this time. As things develop I'll keep posting on them.
The chemo treatment went well, the nurse was informative and attentive. In fact she was very good at her job.
we are going to the Florida Cancer and Research Center, at St. Anthonys Hospital, St Petersburg Florida.
