Lymphoma Diagnosis

I currently have lymphoma.

I was first diagnosed in 1991. I had treatment.
The lymphoma returned in 2003. I had treatment.
The lymphoma returned in 2019.
Unfortunately, I had chemotherapy and radiation and treatment did not give me remission.
The doctor tried a different treatment in 2020 and it not give me remission.

So, the doctor is giving me actually two options.
Do nothing, and hope for the best.
Do treatment, CAR-T but I do not really have a dedicated caregiver to make CAR-T work.

During the last treatment, I was making progress between the 3rd and 4th cycle.
However, the doctors postponed the 6th cycle due to possible respiratory infection.

ask your oncologist about keytruda. it does not seem to be working for me, but worth a try.

My live-in companion also has lymphoma. Diagnosed over 5 years ago but is non-aggressive, It's been a waiting game for him. 'Watchful waiting".

My brother had an aggressive lymphoma in 1997. Had chemo and 22 great years. Came back in spring 2019. He had an autologous stem cell transplant June 2019 and has been doing great since then, although the procedure and recovery were arduous. Had blood work and a CT scan in Dec., no evidence of disease.

I have been to this clinic a couple times. Amazing what diet can do for many diseases and conditions including some cancers.

a lymphoma specialist, perhaps at a teaching hospital if there is one accessible to you?

My blood cancer, multiple myeloma, is less common and there are impressive stats about the difference in results between specialists in myeloma and regular hematology oncologists. My specialist helps direct treatment which I get from my local oncologist.

These days it might be even easier to get a second opinion with appts able to be done virtually.
