Breast MRI today

My annual mammo revealed a whole slew of cysts that LOOK benign, so my doctor ordered this test. He promised to call me on Monday and let me know what we do next...most likely a biopsy to make sure of what's in there.
I already told him that if anything looks bad, I want to just go for the second mastectomy -- I dread the idea of going through all that cancer treatment again. My daughter's big Hawaii wedding is next year and I'd hate to be in chemo recovery for that.

I asked for '70s music in the headphones, and it gave me "Sweet Home Alabama" -- a pro-Southern song grrr. Glad that's over. If Phillips is so good at audio equipment, why can't they do something to make these machines quieter???

My Dr still thinks it's going to be a nothing, but we're going in just to make sure. I'll report back.
Thanks for the good thoughts.

I was awake and it was only painful for a minute (I complained and they gave me more Lidocaine). Afterward, more mammograms were taken (to show the placement of the marker).
I'll get the results next Monday at my surgeon's office.

It's a nothing cyst! I'm good, but from now on, we'll look every six months rather than yearly.

...if you throw in a bit of THC with it. Very little in my case (I've always been a cheap date lol).

figured out was that trying to stay out of the OR when they find these things was more anxiety producing than useful. First there's the mammo, then the ultrasound, then the MRI, then the needle biopsy, core biopsy, and then...oops, you need a biopsy. With the life-stopping anxiety at each step. My plan going forward was just go straight to the biopsy and be done with it. Much less worry. Then I developed actual breast cancer (which was pretty definitively diagnosed at the ultrasound stage), and I went with the bilateral MX. Enough was enough. Now I have to still worry about the cancer coming back, but the mammogram chain is over. Good luck.

The doctor has replaced my implant (it was too large, and it was seated too low), and now I'm just about symmetrical. Prepping for daughter's wedding -- clothes look normal on me now! Been exercising and even lost some weight.
I'll continue to do all the tests every sic months.
Also had a colonoscopy. One small polyp was benign. i had it mainly to see why I have "bathroom issues." Hemmorhoids, that's all. Maybe next year I'll deal with that. For now it's lace and flowers and high heels.
