1. That's something I'm going to have to deal with sooner rather than later
so I'll be watching this thread.
I've seen a lot of people park it over an arm when they're standing at a cashier stand. I imagine it's good for tripping unpleasant teenagers, too. |

2. I use mine just like Dr House did
Hell, I even got the one with the flames. I like the classic hook because I can hang it on my arm if I'm not using it to lean on or walk. I'll leave it at home when I can, but when my leg is hurting or is weak, I carry it around with regularity. I'll hang it on a table if I'm at a restaurant or seated at a desk. It's actually quite useful in holding doors open, pressing elevator buttons, smacking small children...

4. Dang - mine is a blackthorn that doesn't have a hook.
I'll have to see if I can rig a small hook.

3. Happily it is resting
In the garage. Which means nothing is hurting bad enough right now to need it.

6. I didn't have any trouble with security and put it in the overhead compartment.
but then again I was weak and looked like shit at the time. As long as you look like you are using it, you should be fine. Also, make sure that there's no metal in it that would set off any alarms.
Or you could get a cheap one to fly with in the event that somebody screws with you. I like the website fashionablecanes.com They are very fast shippers and have a ton to choose from. |

7. A lot
of people, including my mom, use the one that folds up. Really useful when traveling
or just going out somewhere. |

8. I use a Hurry Cane or alternatively a foldup
The Hurry cane is great and stands up when you aren't using it. It takes a bit of getting use to at first but I have found that it provides greater stability and is great for uneven surfaces or hills. It also folds but I rarely use that feature.
Here's a link http://the-hurrycane.com/ If I am going short distances and know I will be in a confined space like a theater or restaurant I will use another folding cane that pops in my bag. |

9. I have the foldable
type. it's convenient to put it in your purse. It's also quiet. Mine didn't have a handle on it so I knitted one.
