Our son just made it he found it online two pieces of bread filled with preserves then fried like French toast. My wife just had blueberry jam in her pieces who would have thought. I wonder if we could use peanut butter as well , I almost forgot my furry dog pack oath in duty honor sharing as I ate. I looked down and had slobbers and six eyes staring at me ok man share I share as always and no complaints from furry boys either.

(17,254 posts)Right after...we finish the delivery we got today from a vegan bakery in Texas called Southern Roots. I ordered the Valentines combo (it was late due to the weather): 2 pieces of strawberry cake, 2 pieces of red velvet cake, 6 sugar cookies and 8 red velvet donuts! 🙂
To celebrate with you and the husband
They all sound wonderful. I'd try strawberry preserves w/peanut butter.

(13,547 posts)Peanut butter and maple syrup on a pancake is a lot like a maple bar, maybe a little better.

(50,291 posts)French toast is one of my favorites -- many variations that are all tasty. But, I keep coming back to the sourdough bread with butter and maple syrup, washed down with a hot cup o' coffee...

(7,399 posts)I substituted red raspberry jam, but didn't have any vanilla extract (where the hell did that go?).
It was quite good! I probably got carried away with the amount of jam and it was a bit gooey, but still very tasty. I'll have to dial that back next time.
I'll move on to strawberry jam next. I bought a jar online at Walmart a few weeks ago. I hastily clicked the picture and added it to my cart without reading the description. Looks can be deceiving as a HUGE jar of jam arrived. I mean just an absurd, demoralizing amount.
Hence my interest in simple recipes involving jam. It may not be possible for me to eat all this godforsaken jam, but I'm going to try.
It's PB&J for lunch tomorrow. And Thursday. And Friday.
