What's for Dinner, Sat., Sept. 25, 2021

Appetizer: crackers with cauliflower dip that also has roasted chile and pepperjack cheese.

Cucumbers with scallions in sour cream.

Tortellini soup, which also has mushrooms, cauliflower, and spinach. Parmesan and chopped herbs over the top.

Raspberry, blueberry, and Goji berry kombucha.

Dessert: Vanilla rice pudding and pumpkin spice latte. Square of hazelnut crisp chocolate.

and kale sauce, and sautee of haukei turnips and their greens, zucchini, bell peppers, and cauliflower leaves in white wine. Green salad with plum tomato. Pear slices for dessert.

Lentils, vegan sausage coins, shredded carrots, garlic, onion, and hot red pepper in chicken stock, plus hot biscuits. Decafe tea

It was good, more subtle with the flavoring being herbs. Bone in chicken does add something to a dish that boneless, skinless doesn't.

I wish I would have had a bigger skillet with a lid (it was soupier than I think the authentic one would be) and that we'd bought some good bread when we were out shopping today, to have with it. We had a Moldavian Chardonnay with it that made up some of the deficits.

It's German week at Aldi, so dessert is Bienenstich cake (cake layers, cream filling, topped with caramelized flaked almonds).

4. More cauli -- but as a pizza crust

Even though you can now buy cauliflower pizza crust almost everywhere these days, I still make my own. Hubby's is Greek-ish, with olives, peppers, artichoke hearts, red onion, diced tomatoes, olive oil, and feta. Mine is slathered in pepperoni, red peppers, and mozzarella. later on, Rebel Triple-Chocolate ice cream.

m can of tomato sauce. my soup spices + italian seasoning. bell pepper, onions, celery + pasta. great w/ buttered Italian bread too.

rhubarb cherry tart later.
