with salsa verde. Tempura shishito peppers with spicy mayo. I have so many peppers from my garden this year...I'm working hard to get them used up. I will probably deliver a big bunch of them to the food bank.

No need for potatoes tonight. Overloaded on donuts this afternoon, but am now removing the icing to recyle it as sweetener and oil in pancakes. Trying to lower carbs but keep food edible.

Navy beans made with a cut up ham steak. Only veg was onions, we're out of carrots and celery.
Some spicy chicken wings TJ ordered in yesterday.

FLFC came and expressed his hunger and nothing I had was suitable, not even peanut butter! I fished some ham out of the cooking beans because I guessed he was smelling it. Bingo! I had to get some more before he was satisfied. An hour later when TJ had her bowl, there he was, lobbying for her ham.

Essentially Hungarian Beef Stew with root vegetables (carrots, potatoes, turnip, celeriac/celery root)

Spices: sweet paprika, caraway seeds, cumin, bay leaves

I found beef shanks on sale for $4.99 a pound.

And while it took about 4+ hours from prep to plate, it was so worth it.
