I'm going to my friend's house, only a short distance away, and we are going to sit on her porch and hand out Halloween candy. However, this is no ordinary Halloween candy deal. She is located in a neighborhood which has a lot of spooky looking houses, so every year there is this parade where the kids march through in their costumes. They put a lot into these costumes, too, so it is very entertaining. Literally hundreds of kids. You cannot possibly buy enough candy. My friend bought 16 bags and she said his will only last an hour.
Here are a few of the houses in the neighborhood, so you get the idea:
My friend's house is just around the corner from these houses. After we hand out all the candy, we're going inside to have:
Chinese dumplings with hoisin sauce
Salmon
Tossed green salad
Happy Halloween, everyone!!

(17,419 posts)These are some pre-seasoned spare ribs in a baking bag. I was tempted to remove them and slow cook them my way, but resisted.
Choice of baked white or sweet potatoes.
Some prepared slaw from the store that has one third the sugar of the others.
This is planned to share with our neighbor.
FLFC has a new feeding arrangement. He seems to be having difficulty eating directly from the floor and makes a mess from stepping in on the plate which he can't see. It is a cat bowl holder that holds his food about three inches above the floor. It is a good fit for the small paper plates he is used to eating off. If the plates edges are turned down it can't slide off.
He accepted it readily and didn't make as much of mess. His first meal was stew beef, half a Vienna sausage, apple slices, and some of the lean ground beef. His dessert was a small pile of Temptations.
