I like them, with some mayo and lettuce, add cucumber for a bonus crunch.
I vastly prefer mayo, but a tomato sandwich is the one and only thing in the world I will eat with Miracle Whip.

(46,037 posts)Some farmers markets are good. Otherwise, they need to be homegrown.

(22,767 posts)only when tomatoes are in season. I love them with either Miracle Whip (hate mayo), salt and pepper, or peanut butter with salt.

(130,865 posts)Often bought them returning from beach @ end of weekend, and had tomato sandwiches for breakfast during the work-week, good sharp cheddar on the side!

(38,549 posts)for me it was always toasted wheat bread.
And the beverage was always a cold beer.

(86,536 posts)I love them on wheat toast with salted butter on one slice and a good mayo on the other, only use garden tomatoes, no salt or anything else needed.

(22,669 posts)I was putting cow manure around my tomato plants this morning. Can't wait to start eating them. I think the little cherry tomatoes are the best tasting.

(15,088 posts)I like mine with butter rather than mayo. Unfortunately, raw tomatoes trigger migraines for me, but once a year in August, I test that by putting a glorious slab of homegrown tomato between two slices of buttered toast.

(14,176 posts)And I'm addicted to them. In CA I can fortunately get good tomatoes pretty much year round, but in the summer my local farmer' market has a guy who only grows heirloom tomatoes and OMG they are magic. I normally put pickled onions on the sandwich, too, with my homemade sourdough. I used to eat one every day in the summer because I love them so much

(111,245 posts)slices of sourdough rye, skim of Hellman's mayo, thin sliced tomatoes, Swiss cheese dusted with tiny amounts of dill and summer savory, put into the toaster oven to melt the cheese.
They were divine. Can't get the sourdough rye bread in NM, dammit.

(7,473 posts)Cains is the best..their relish too.
Never saw Dukes in this neck of the woods.
Summer dinner: Toasted BLT w/Cains. Nothing better in my opinion..
