the 18 year old who heads off to college next week asked for it (?!). I'll start in on it as soon as the 16 year old chef is done baking a birthday cheesecake for me for tomorrow.

Hope you're feeling well, Lucinda!

And the stuffed portabellos, etc. sound delicious, but neither son likes mushrooms so I'll have to wait for the empty nest!

usually we only have it on Christmas Eve, accompanying pierogies. I'll have to try the leftovers cold - sounds good in this weather.
Thank you for the birthday greetings!

...that your college-bound kid requested a meal that has sentimental significance in the family. Borscht and pierogi -- that's a nice tradition!

I also like a big dollop of sour cream in it.

Very envious here.

Took the last piece of that big lamb leg and we have some fresh corn on the cob and the rest of the herb/greens salad.

Whether they come or not, we will be fine.

Hope you are doing well, Lucinda!

Had a cold plate earlier - cold smoked summer sausage, sliced, with rye bread rounds, sun dried tomato/basil cheese spread, mandarin oranges, brownies.

...and some marinated olives on the side. Too much carbs for me in that dinner, so I will have a small feta omelet and just dabs of the other stuff.
