Related: About this forumSince we're posting about corn
I shuck the corn, lay it on aluminum foil (couple layers thick), add in a few pats of butter and sprinkle salt, and wrap it up.
Then grill it on a fire; it caramelizes and tastes great. Just be careful when you unwrap it - it's hot.

I don't shuck first, just soak them in water for 10 or 15 minuts and then wrap in aluminum....

Try a non-butter route--take the hot corn, rub with a lime wedge, and sprinkle salt....

(67,788 posts)1. We do nothing to the corn before grilling it.
No shucking or cleaning.
Corn
Fire
Place corn on fire
When husk is charred black corn is done.
We eat it completely unadorned by foreign matter like salt or butter.

as needed. The shucks steam it and it is moist. then unwrap and unshuck and add butter and whatever seasoning I am in the mood for.

foil and grill. If I'm using wood or charcoal, I'll put the ear into the ash around the perimeter of the grill. Good eating anyway you grill it
