(35,622 posts)A dish I wanted to make two days ago but couldn't because I wasn't finished cleaning my kitchen.
I stayed up until 2:30 a.m. cleaning last night and it was gratifying indeed to have a clean floor to walk on, clean sink, sterilized counters. I'm being extra thorough because that plumbing equipment they brought in, while it looked clean, probably wasn't.
There's still a little counter cleaning left, which I am embarking upon now.
What an ordeal!

... to single-serving freezer containers today, but it's too thick and I'm going to simmer in
more tomato sauce, water and, of course... GARLIC (you did notice I said "single-serving,
didn't you?). AFTER having a big ol' honkin' serving of it undiluted -- sauce so thick you
could pretty much eat it with a fork.
.
I removed the stems from about 1 lb of mushrooms and then diced the caps fairly small.
sauted them in butter, fresh garlic and a little bit of Worcestershire and added them (for
the very first time -- I've been on the fence sometimes on whether mushroom sauce is
good or not) to my sauce. It's fantastic and they'll be a regular ingredient in my sauce
from now on!!!
