Related: About this forumWhat should I make with leftover FRESH ham (already roasted)
I know ham is an easy piece to dry out, and it can't be smoked, since it's already roasted. Can it become bbq? Should I throw it in the crock with some kraut?
I need ideas...

(102,104 posts)cut into 1 inch cubes... Cook on low for 8-10 hours.. Serve with a bit of cheddar cheese as soup or drain a bit and serve over rice. Yum. Comfort food for wintery days!

(29,098 posts)Are you talking about the butt cut before it is smoked. Just the white meat not the red stuff that most folks call ham. I grew up calling the cut of pork used to make ham-----fresh ham
If you have what I call fresh ham you are lucky. It can be used for pulled pork sammies, tacos, enchilades, its even lovely with tomato sauce as a rahu over pasta.
So do you have red ham. Or do you have pork roast?
It is good with saurkraut and roast potatoes too

(10,291 posts)I mistakenly bought it roasted it in a sort of Spanish recipe (sherry, oregano, etc) and now I have this left over cooked, but not CURED ham.
Not red-pink like what we traditionally call ham, served with pineapples, or cherries, or whatever, more like roasted dark brown on top, and sort of "pork roast colored" through the middle.

What you aren't eating with saurkraut, potatoes and gravy can go into a tortilla for wrapps or with barbeque sauce on a bun. And don't rule out throwing it in some tomato
sauce over a wider pasta
