cold and light snow here, so i'm thinking soup. i haven't made my curried pumpkin and chickpea soup in a while and it's starting to sound tasty. i'll get a loaf of bread going shortly, then it's just a matter of motivating to the store.

(24,146 posts)i don't like pumpkin pie, either, but i love that soup. i fiddle with the recipe a fair amount, but it's a great base to work with and really easy. it's one of those dishes of mine that doesn't necessarily look appetizing but is killer good.

(2,016 posts)I still have some tzatziki sauce, some lettuce and tomato, sliced onion. But, I'll be using flour tortillas instead of the non-existent pita bread. I ate the lamb yesterday, so the leftover steak will have to do. Anyway, it's a good way to clean out the fridge!

(146,218 posts)that is in a very tropical, almost jungle like, area.
Surrounded by birds of brilliant colors and next to a brook, we shared a meal of mixed meats, salsas, quesadillas, beans and guacamole with all the produce having been grown on the land.
It was a pretty magical place, but I will take bug spray on my next visit there, lol!
Something light for supper, then - maybe just some apples and cheese.
Mmmmmm
.. curried pumpkin. Now that sounds delicious.
Market day tomorrow and I can already taste my favorite foods from there.

(146,218 posts)I highly recommend a small casita in a town that is not a resort city.
My cold has moved from my head to my chest, which is better. Hopefully it is on it's way out the door!

(50,130 posts)....and a true waldorf salad. (I always make that distinction because some people consider waldorf salad to have marshmallows and other stuff. A true waldorf salad is apples, celery, walnuts, mayo, a bit of lemon juice and a bit of sugar. Just as I learned it in freshman Home Ec.)
Haven't had pot roast for a long time, but I hear that beef prices are going way up so now's the time.

(24,146 posts)it's one of my favorite suppers.

(35,619 posts)Beet-gorgonzola-walnut salad. I served it over red and green leaf lettuce with some endive in it, the bitterness of that leaf to counter the sweetness of the beets. When I mixed the salad dressing over the beets, I put in fresh mint and chopped dill.
For the entree, yellow rice with red peppers with garlic shrimp.
I think I'll roast some tomatoes on very low heat tonight--what Mollie Katzen calls "tomato chewies." Also slow-roast some Brussels sprouts.

p.s. looks like you're feeling better, cbayer
