Related: About this forumSplurged a bit! Bought a nice French press coffee maker.
Already had whole beans and a coffee grinder, so it fit. Found one one sale at Target, Bodium brand, out of Germany, I think.
Used it yesterday and this morning. Great coffee. No more filter drip, much better brew.
Did I mention half 'n half?

(18,638 posts)I have a FP to use on the weekends and during the week I usually make espresso w/this:

I can't drink 'restaurant' coffee any more. Too blah and weak!
Great discoveries, no?

I have a good drip maker, but was getting tired of it and must have the Bodum in storage somewhere, so I found a great cheap one at Home Goods. It makes 2 1/2 13 oz cups but the best thing is that when they made it they blew the glass in two layers so it's insulated.
I didn't notice that until I got it home.
Great coffee, and it stays hot longer.

(4,473 posts)It makes one cup of coffee, just the way I like it. Far cheaper than any other coffee maker, and easy to clean.
