Garbanzos with chorizo

http://cookingwiththemark.blogspot.com

Ingredients
1 pound chorizo
2 15 ounce cans garbanzos
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 onion, chopped
1 t dried thyme
4 whole cloves
1 stick cinnamon
1 c chicken broth

Directions
In a skillet, brown the chorizo in a little olive oil. (It can also be grilled.) Set aside, and when cool, slice into bite-sized pieces. In the same pan, sauté onions and garlic in olive oil until translucent. Add the chorizo and brown slightly. Then combine all the ingredients in a Dutch oven and bake at 375° for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with freshly baked bread and a salad.

The garlic is toasted in oil with diced onion, some red pepper flakes, tossed. Garbanzos added to the mix, tossed. Then spaghetti and water are added with salt, basil and oregano. All together, oil included in the pan. Cooked till al dente. Drained, topped with some bread crumbs and grated cheese.

Simple, tasty Sicilian dish. I add chopped broccoli to the boil sometimes or chopped greens to the plate.

I'm going to give this a try... I'll cut back on the clove a bit (don't care much for clove) but it does look good.
