I'm going to give these a try. Vegetable Masala Burgers (Trader Joes)

From their ad -

Vegetable Masala Burger

Vegetable Masala Burger When it comes to vegetarian meat alternatives, the anecdotal evidence indicates that options are improving all the time. Trader Joe's Vegetable Masala Burger proves that proposition to be true. This is a blend of seven different vegetables - potatoes, carrots, green beans, bell peppers, onions, corn and green peppers - with authentic Indian spices like coriander, cumin, red chili powder and turmeric. If you're in the market for a completely original burger flavor profile, this is it. If you're looking for a delicious alternative to meat or soy based burgers, you've found it. And if great tasting vegan meal options are the pot of gold at the end of your rainbow, you may just have found nirvana.

4, 10 oz. burgers, $2.49 at our local TJ.

They do sound good. And at $.60 a serving, worth a try. pinto May 2014 #2
Very good, perfect on pita with the mango chutney they sell, too. nt msanthrope May 2014 #3

If they've got enough chile in them they might even be good. There's in them to give them a decent texture (unlike bean burgers which are mush inside of two hard crusts).

It might be a challenge to season them properly when they hit the bun. I'd probably to with lettuce and a thin slice of Vidalia onion (or one of its competitors from Texas).

I'll probably fold one into flat bread with a mild curry sauce.

Let me know how your curry sauce goes with it.

I like them with grilled pineapple.

They basically taste and feel like potato pancakes with some extra veggies added. This would be fine as a side dish, but to put on a bun as a "burger" - it just doesn't work for me.
