(14,733 posts)for most meals over the last week, and it'll probably be again tonight. The ancient grain bread with pepperjack cheese, the red pepper bruschetta, banana peppers, romaine, and sometimes sprouts is not only delicious, but I've been melting off the pounds while eating them. Down over 10 lbs in a week living mostly on those and coffee.
sounds good. What is the red pepper bruschetta?

(106,886 posts)I donated to a local non-profit fund raiser. The meal comes for a donation.
2 meals for $20, so I figure the agency gets at least 50% - 60% of it. Tri-tip is really economical. And I know the restaurant that's donating their time to do up the meals. Local BBQ favorite. The tri-tip was likely donated - that would up the take for the non-profit to ~ 80%.

(1,451 posts)Where the yummiest meal we had was the "Juicy Lucy" hamburger at M.E.A.T. in Islamorada. Go figure Tonight we had blackened mahi here at home with sauteed veggies and couscous. Strange that we had great beef in the Keys and great fish at home

(88,117 posts)To the recipe below I add a little worcester sauce, a little mayonaisse (real mayo). Adds a lot of flavor.
Ingredients:
1 can (16 ounces) salmon ( I like red salmon)
1 small onion, finely grated
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
ground black pepper, to taste
2 large eggs, well beaten
1 to 1 1/2 cups fine dry bread crumbs
3 tablespoons butter

(35,616 posts)The RG just spent 2 days getting the exterior of our house in shape, so we figured we needed a celebratory dinner out at our favorite Portuguese restaurant.
We had two appetizers--crab cakes and chorizos.
I also had shrimp soup that has to be one of the best soups I've ever had in my life. I only wish I could make it myself! You can be sure I'll be experimenting.
We had a big grilled seafood platter for two. It had lobsters, shrimp, and seafood like cod. The exterior of the fish was so crispy, but the interior so delicate.
We had two pitchers of red sangria.
And as an after-dinner drink, almond liquere.
What a great reward. The RG had the entire house power washed and painted. He had a new exterior for the stairway to the pool installed. In addition, the deck, which spans the length of the house, was powerwashed and newly stained. Another deck up by the pool was also powerwashed. A storage shed was relocated . Tons of "stuff" thrown out. And all the gutters and leaders thrown out and replaced with new. In two days!
The bonus to the meal was that Bubble Butt was there! This is a fellow patron whom we find most, um, entertaining. BB was entertaining her um, rather elderly boyfriend, who had a dozen "happy birthday" balloons tied to his bar stool.
