OP
Pinto Day! I like it. Still waiting for Governor Brown's proclamation. He must have missed my email.

I sure wish you were coming out here. It is magical and we would love to see you.
But I understand that is is rather outrageously expensive to get here. Though once you are here, it would cost nothing,

(106,886 posts)3. Thank you friends. Each of you mean a lot to me.
It was a great get together. Outside, low key, a waaay lot of good food and talk.

(106,886 posts)7. Finished up the day on the patio of a Thai place near my house. Solo, just enjoying the afternoon.
Buddha roll - Noodles, tofu and green vegetables, mild sesame sauce and crushed peanuts, wrapped and tied in rice paper. Steamed.
Spicy fried rice - rice, bell pepper and basil, sauteed beef, chili & garlic sauce. Stir fried.
A glass of merlot.
Stuffed and there's left overs. It's a walk and a movie now or otherwise I might just cut to the chase - the couch and a movie.
Nice day all around.

(9,819 posts)8. And here is the recipe for a pinto birthday cake!
I have been seeing recipes for (vegan) cakes using beans (pinto or black) as a substitute for eggs/butter. Haven't tried the recipe for this one, but it looks like it would make a lovely cake.

I've seen use applesauce, prune puree, and beans instead.
