(146,218 posts)It was really special.
We stopped for lunch in the town or Greccio and had a wonderful meal in the plaza served by the woman who has probably owned it for 50 years.
Delightful!
Tomorrow we will be making our farewell dinner:
Bagna Cuada with endive, yellow pepper and fresh bread
Quattro formaggio pizza with last of the truffles
Veal Roulade
Berry tart with the last of the gelato.
Time to clean out that refrigerator!

(2,016 posts)with veggies on the grill, too. Skewers of zucchini, tomato, mushrooms and onions. All marinated in a soy/balsamic/garlic/olive oil thingy. Served with rice pilaf.
Happy day off (for me)!

(58,785 posts)It's August, though, so DH will grill salmon steaks with a light maple and mustard glaze out on the porch, and I'll slice some tomatoes and throw together one of our favorite summer standards -- a salad of cottage cheese, diced cucumber, lemon juice, hot sauce, and scallions.

(20,234 posts)Morningstar Farms bbq riblets on a bun. If all goes according to plan, this will be the closest I ever get to the McDonalds McRibs.
Salad to go with it. With cucumbers. Lots of cucumbers. I got a 1/2 bushel of cukes for $2.99 yesterday, I'll be making pickles after dinner tonight.
