Sure hope the price of butter comes down for Christmas baking!

$5.69 a pound for Land O' Lakes and Challenge butter currently!! Out of sight.

Butter is usually going on sale this time of year for under $3/pound.

How is the price where you are?

We picked up 10 lbs on sale for $4/lb though. (Butter can be frozen.)

I'd just about swear, though, that we got it for $3/lb or less last year.

So, I never really notice how much it goes up or down.

I suppose you could portion out smaller amounts to everyone and blame it on the republicans!

Twelve pounds of cookies were picked up by the college boy going home on the train -- I bake for that part of the family every year and particularly now when there are twin toddlers.

I'm channeling my Aunt Dorothy who set the pace with her baking. A whole pantry with shelves of Christmas tins full of cookies.

I used to be able to buy 5kg bars of chocolate from a restaurant supply store here (until they moved or went out of business; only knew I couldn't find them ever again.) Some of them don't care if you're an individual or a business

I haven't checked Trader Joe's, which I think is owned by the same company. Worth a try.
