Actually, I am pretty wild about tossing food in the freezer to preserve it. Bread or cheese mold doesn't happen when it goes straight from the store to the freezer. And I gave up on fresh milk, I just don't eat fast enough.

However, I see your science experiment turned out rather well, LOL!! That's a keeper there! Uh, the picture, not the cobbler...

but I never seem to abandon anything sweet and that probably makes the difference.

I've had plain yogurt grow some lovely pinks and oranges, though.

Could be meat. Could be cake. Maybe it's meat cake. So you call out 'Honey, is this still good?' and she says 'Smell it", so you do. 'Actually it has no smell whatsoever!' and she answers 'Put it back. It will turn up in something.' And that's what I'm afraid of."

I've got three teenage daughters (well, one's twenty with a boyfriend who eats like a horse), so leftovers aren't the problem they used to be. They're a bigger problem now - they disappear on me! I get all psyched up about lunch and what I want is GONE!
