What's for Dinner, Wed., May 6, 2015

Chicken salad, served over greens that have been tossed in balsamic mayonnaise.

The chicken salad I made myself, using the usual add-ins of chopped celery, cucumber, scallion, and hard-boiled eggs, but I picked up some garlic chives from the Chinese grocery I discovered this semester and added them in, too. Each serving of chicken has different toppings:

--pomegranate Craisins and cashews
--avocado and chow mein noodles
--pickled jalopenos

Later tonight, I'm going to start wedding soup with chicken meatballs. That's redundant, isn't it? Wedding soup is always with chicken meatballs...?

I am still getting a good laugh over cbayer's post on the yesterday's thread about needing Italian food desperately. I will tell the RG. Having lived there for 20 years, he will appreciate that.

I'm going to cook up two chicken breasts and some hamburger, but I'm not sure what I will do with them.

Things that need to be eaten, if possible - flour, pasta, cheese, crackers, one onion, bag of frozen blackberries, butter, crema.

Not a vegetable in the house.

Any ideas?

but I don't remember if there were instructions included. Maybe grilled chicken & hamburgers with onion, a blackberry pie.

8. That would have been a thought, but there really is no one around here right now.

This is the time of year when people leave. It's just too darn hot here.

But I might rustle up someone for tomorrow! Let me think on it.

Thanks!

I've even got lard, which is the king of pie crust ingredients in these here parts.

I've cooked the chicken and we can eat off of it for several days.

I think i will make slop out of the hamburger - some kind of pasta, cheese meat thing.

Tell him that soon I will be eating fresh burrata and perfectly aged parmesan. Tell him I will be fixing the perfect cacio e pepe and serve it with prosciutto and figs. The risotto will have truffles the local dog digs up and the squash blossoms will be stuffed with ricotta and anchovies.

Tell him! Tell him now!!
