Any one use the spiral vegetable slicer yet?

I've been seeing tons of recipes lately calling for spiraled vegetables.

I made a soup the other day that called for spiraled zucchini, and not having this tool I just used my mandolin and made long julienne zucchini strips, and that worked very well.

But loving kitchen gadgets I'm coveting this one, but am wondering if it's just a fad and truly want to know how well it works.

I also have a simple julienne tool that I occasionally use as well. I have been eating moderately low carb for a year now, so spiralized zucchini and yellow squash substitutes for pasta pretty well.

The "queen" of spiralizing writes this blog, has just published a cookbook and has an app, as well. I get her emails of daily recipes, but have just not found the time to try out too many, though she uses all kinds of vegetables and some of her recipes sound really good. http://www.inspiralized.com/ She started out using my spiralizer (Paderno), but has now started selling her own.

If you have limited cabinet space, I'm not sure you'd want to buy another device, given you have a mandolin, but I do like mine (and have figured a way to use the space around it pretty well. It is fairly compact.

A few good recipes on the site too.

Yes, I think I just WANT the gadget rather than NEED the gadget. I realize it's just a fad and there's always ways to get around the required instructions as I did with julienning the zucchini.
