They're just starting to ripen, but I'm hoping for a dozen or so tomorrow, and more every day for the next month at least. I'm also hoping the blue jays will leave me some of the cherries.

Got a pint today. My daughter's growing them nearby, and got a 'few' today.

Great you can pick your own!

in terms of depredations by slugs, birds, beagles, we get enough to make anywhere from a dozen to two dozen 8 oz jars of jam, and maybe use a few with ice cream. I'd like to get some of those terra cotta patio pots with all the holes in the sides so I didn't have to fight the weeds as much, but they're pretty pricey everywhere I've checked.

Picture a 12 inch (or so) water pipe stood on end, terra cotta colored with staggered planting niches and occasional pegs to help support the plants. Have considered trying one out. Would set it on a revolving base so I could stand and pick, turn, stand and pick...

That way you don't have to share so much with the animals. Just be sure to turn the planters so the plant gets sun all the way around.

the strawberries from a market 10 miles away, the gerbera daisy from grocery store, and the David Austin Alnwick rose from a bush I bought last year. I'm pleased it survived the winter!
