Mary's Blue Ribbon Banana Bread

Last edited Sun Sep 6, 2015, 10:01 PM - Edit history (1)

I don’t know Mary, but you’ll love her banana bread:

“I have been using this Banana Bread recipe for 30 years ... everyone asks for it!
I entered this in the County Fair ... and won a Blue Ribbon.
I entered this a number of years... in a row and it always took home the blue ribbon.
It is a moist and flavorful bread.

My secret is simple. Place over ripe bananas on a plate in the refrigerator.
Cover with plastic wrap or the banana flavor will permeate other foods.
Let them turn black. It is the banana oils that give the flavor.”

(I'm assuming where she says to let the banana turn black she means the skin and not the actual banana)
