What's for Dinner, Tues., Sept. 22, 2015

"I'll have what he's having." Meaning that I will be in class through the dinner hour and won't even be home for dinner. The RG is cooking dinner for our friend and himself, so I'm guessing he will leave me a nice meal for when I come home. I have no idea what it will be, however.

OK - a day off today in the middle of the week. Laundry is just about done, vacuumed the entire house, outdoor grill is cleaned, all 3 bathrooms have been scrubbed (hey, I only use 2 of them), the car is washed and vacuumed.

Once the clothes are folded and put away, it's "movie day" for me.

Oh yeah, and tacos tonight.

basically lasagna, but done on a single noodle which is then rolled on itself, so each portion is already individually separated, none of the tedious sawing through layers and parts dropping out the side as you try to transfer it to a plate.

It's been mice war day. I found a dead one back in the coils of the chest freezer in the garage that had been stinking up the garage, another dead maggoty one in the logpile off the side of the porch that probably got squashed as the logs shifted, and one of the beagles alerted me to two live ones that had gotten into the pantry just inside the door to the attached garage. One I managed to suck up with a sweeper, and then dump his little butt out onto the compost at the back of the yard, but the other scurried across the hall into the bathroom, so I just said $%^^% it and put down a snap trap with peanut butter and closed off that room.

But brought me home a tossed salad with goat cheese and figs, an entree of lamb ravioli. and dessert, which was that cherry dessert that is so delicious.

The wine he bought for an accompaniment was exceptional. I'm so glad he bought an entire case.
