Been out cutting and notching logs, I'm going to make a wood rack out of some of the logs I haven't cut down yet so I can get it all up off the ground, and cut down on the places mice can hide in it.

ETA - first section done, but I'll need at least one more section, maybe two, to stack any serious percentage of the wood I've got. Even having the brush, trunk, and larger branches taken away, that maple left a LOT of wood to cut and store.

Got the yogurt and the spices, so why not?

It's marinating now in the fridge, later I'll grill it. Just made a raita, and that is also setting up in the fridge.

Bought an eggplant this morning, gotta figure out how to round out this meal - maybe stove-top sautee' with tomatoes?

It's early - I'll figure it out eventually..

with ethnic foods lately. I have been craving Indian, but I don't want to make it myself, so I am going to try to convince somebody to go with me to an Indian restaurant.

Also, I was recently laid off ... so I've got some time to play in the kitchen. I may as well take advantage of it.

I let my class out early. We crammed all the info into half the time of the class. At least we got through all the material.

I raced home and the RG had the table set and was enjoying a glass of wine with our neighbor. He decided not to cook, and had ordered take-out from the restaurant that has the skyline view of NYC. There was: a pasta dish--gnocchi. A tossed salad; really quite lovely and made with mesclun. Not enough dressing, though. Then the main course was chicken with vegetables. Dessert was the chocolate cherry dessert he usually orders for me. This time, however, it was accompanied by a lace chocolate cookie. So good.
