What's for Dinner, Tues., Mar. 8, 2016

Last edited Wed Mar 9, 2016, 02:42 AM - Edit history (1)

I bought several pounds of ground beef, so I will either make a meatloaf or meatballs. I already have the sauce, as the RG made it.

Now--what else to go with? Thinking...thinking...

On edit: what I came up with was--watermelon! And honeydew! So delicious and summer-like!

I've got to take the dough out of the fridge around 3:30 to let it rise. Not sure where I'll go with toppings. I know I've got plenty of canned pineapple chunks, so that'll be there. Maybe some blue cheese. I've found a couple of fairly mild blues I really like of late - Carr Valley Glacier Point Blue was one, the other is eluding me entirely atm, but I'll know it when I see it again. Maybe a bit of bacon, and I've got some onions, although I was planning to use those tomorrow, so maybe not. Banana peppers instead, I think.

My new apple tree is set to ship within a week, so I'll need to get out and start digging the hole for it while the weather is nice, as well as seeing what garden space I've got that hasn't been claimed by other things. I'd like to move the saffron crocus, but I don't think they'd get enough sunlight in the bed out between the current apple trees, so they're taking up space in one of the beds I used to use for veggies. Might just put more flowering plants in that one, I guess.

Had some in the freezer from the last batch I made. Will do tacos w/ shredded cabbage, cilantro and roasted jalapenos. Sides of rice and pinto beans.

started out we were gonna have spaghetti squash with sauce ..
so I had the sauce in the crock pot cooking while I slept. (work nights)
wife got home and she decided she didn't want spaghetti squash
she wanted REAL pasta .

for a good alternative for that spaghetti squash. I made some that had quite a few herbs in them, and also parmesan. Loved them so much that I made them a couple more times. Time to make them again!
