(2,016 posts)At least that's what America's Test Kitchen called it. It's fusilli with spinach and ricotta. No trial all this week, so I can give thought to cooking again. Always wanted to make this recipe since I first seen it on ATK.

(2,016 posts)Like "repurposed" (leftovers), "tablescape" (setting a freaking table), "market fresh" (Is there a market rotten?), "farm-to-table" (how else are veggies grown?), and "to perfection" (why would you cook something to imperfection anyway?)
Oh, and "foodie" comes to mind...
I could write all day on this topic...

(35,658 posts)I think "farm to table" refers to restaurants that grow a portion of their own vegetables, fruits, greens, and herbs. It may refer to other situations, too, though, which could make it a ridiculous term
In fact, I have to do a lesson plan on "farm to table restaurants" yet tonight, and I'm oh so tired. I'll probably put it off until tomorrow, despite how interesting it is. Right here in my very own town is a very large restaurant operation that does f2t. Their restaurants are all upscale, and even the RG admits they do a good job. They have one property with a chateau on it, and it has a massive greenhouse. I have pics from them that I am putting into a .ppt.
Most of the time, f2t restaurants also do composting from the vegetable clippings, so that is a good thing.

(24,146 posts)i have a mess of yellow onion and shallot caramelizing, i'll add some garlic and basil paste later, then some good glugs of white wine and let it get happy. the roasted veggies will be broccoli and green beans. the rice is stepping in for pasta since all we have is a mysterious half box of penne....
yeah, i know i've been mia for more than a hot minute, but hoping i'll be around more often now.
