Spaghetti & Meat Balls

I bumped into this recipe, and the sauce pretty much has all the same stuff I normally use, except for kosher salt and parmesan rind - I don't even know what that is. Anybody familiar with it?

Anyway, the funny thing about this recipe is the way you make meat balls. First you make the sauce, then mix the ingredients for the meat balls, then form the meatballs and place them RAW into the simmering spaghetti sauce. Wa'ell, ah nevah..

Can't even imagine such a thing, but there it is in black and white. Anybody ever do this? I keep imagining blood running down everybody's chins when they take a bite of those meat balls....

1. buy a chunk of parmesan and it will have a rind - I usually grate down to the rind and toss

but I guess there is a good use for it.

And yes - I have made meatballs like this. They turn out great.

Been walking around in circles trying to decide if I should attempt the raw meat balls.

I bought some lean ground round that won't make it too greasy once it cooks...

Thanks a lot..

Will have to try this...A lot easier than browning & boiling before adding.
