What's for Dinner, Fri., Feb. 10, 2017

I came home from school and the RG had made me a most lovely dinner. I had to take pictures because it was so artistic. (And it was very good, too!)

Appetizer: Sushi (salmon) over sliced beets.

On the top left is a layer of apple, beet, and red onion.
The orange cake to the right is a sweet potato cake.
Asparagus cooked in olive oil.

And the main dish is steak which was served over creamy herb/potatoes.

TJ is off tonight and she's cooking some thick pork chops in the crock pot. I can see carrots and potatoes in there and I'm sure there are other veggies too. I smelled some herbs earlier, but couldn't pick out what they were. I don't smell garlic though.

Made with all the bits and pieces in the vegetable crisper to use them before they got beyond being edible. For the meat in the soup I used 3 Sweet Italian sausage links that were in the freezer. The date was two months ago and I don't like to keep sausage longer than that. I removed the casings and lightly browned it before adding all the different vegetables.
