What's for Dinner, Sat., July 15, 2017

Lamb in cream sauce.

Corn & potatoes sauteed together.

Eggplant and zucchini in tomato sauce.

Rustic bread.

I made a chopped salad with romaine leaves from my garden. The Resident Gourmand made all of the above. Also used chopped carrot that had been tossed in dill. Parsley, fennel, zucchini, and red and yellow pepper. Also Poblano pepper, for a little zip.

Older son made BBQ ribs, younger son harvested radishes he grew and made quick-pickled radishes, I'm pressure cooking the corn I got at the Farmers Market this morning, and there's cherry platz (traditional Mennonite treat, aka "pie by the yard&quot that I made. My husband's contribution is his enjoyment

The salad sounds really wonderful. And I'm glad to finally know what RG stands for!

Cutlets with Cajun spice cooked in my grill pan, cut into strips and tossed into a pepper-heavy salad with tarragon dressing.
Oh, and I decided to make strawberry sherbet today, but I added a bit too much milk and I think it's now ice cream. Which is great, except that I also added lemon juice and zest. At least I learned the difference between sherbet and ice cream! Sigh. I'll try again in a few days.

A little overheated and the refrigerator offered these items left over from my soft diet.

Cottage cheese with blue berries and peaches.

It was very filling and deliciously cool.

Tea and cookies (white chocolate chip macadamia) after.

I may have something else later, but I'm full now.
