Related: About this forumI made the most amazing flavored vodka.
Pineapple spears, thai basil, and mint. Put into an old gravy jar then I put it in the freezer for a week. Poured a couple of inches in a tall glass, and topped it with seltzer.
Refreshing, not to sweet and bracing.

(16,371 posts)1. Sounds delicious but why the freezer and fresh or canned pineapple?

(1,473 posts)2. I used the precut spears from Trader Joe's so fresh.
I find that when I cut a pineapple, or an avocado my hands break out.
I put it in the freezer because that's what I've always done with vodka, and I wasn't canning this.
I'm now eating the spears, and boy did they soak up the vodka!
