What's for Dinner, Sat., Sept. 23, 2017

Hamburgers that look like they are from a hamburger ad because they are so tall. In addition to the usual lettuce, tomato, and onion, there is a fried egg and a 1-inch thick pile of thinly sliced prosciutto.

Salt vinegar potato chips.

Caramel macchiato gelato for dessert.

Italian soda (tangerine) to drink.

Sides of baked beans and macaroni & cheese. I I mixed regular Coke and cherry Coke from the help - yourself fountain.

cubed avocados, pico de gallo, more cheese & sour cream drizzle, and lots of napkins. Iced tea with lime slices.
It is pretty warm here today, so I microwaved everything.

We were served beef, Brussels sprouts, and macaroni and cheese

That's exactly what we cooked last night.

The beef at the wedding was short rib with no bone. It was like pot roast, but with a crust. I asked the caterer and it was twice cooked. Essentially pot roasted and then broiled for a crust and that good seared taste. It was much better than our pan cooked sirloin strips. This is the opposite order than I would do it.

Meatballs and sausage. Frozen leftover "gravy"... Lots of pecorino romano, though.

(My freezer is so full, the cold air is not circulating. Must... eat... more... frozen... food...)

Sometime I catch myself food hoarding. "But but... it's on sale!"
