My understanding is the taste and texture changes with milk but it should be fine if you are cooking with it.

I don't use whole milk for many things so I freeze it in smaller portions and thaw it when needed.

would go through a gallon a day and it saved me from having to buy milk all the time.
The first time I did it, I just put the gallon in the freezer and found it almost expanded the milk too much and barely escaped splitting the plastic container.
After that, I removed some before freezing. Worked good. I never was frozen for very many days because of the amount they drank.

I live in the country and my grandsons go through a lot of milk. I buy several gallons at a time and freeze it. Has to be thawed slowly overnight. I just put it in a sauce pan in case the cold brittle plastc gets a crack in it. Shake it up. Its really just fine.
