What's for Dinner, Tues., Nov. 27, 2018

Beef stew. Yesterday the RG roasted a veal breast which I tasted and determined to be quite tender. So today he made up a stew from it with vegetables like carrots, parsnips, turnips, etc.: all the items that go in a hearty winter dish. He put it all in the slow cooker.

He also made apple strudel in flake pastry crust.

It's nippy here in NJ, so this will be quite welcome.

make the best gluten free crust ever...most places buy frozen, but this place makes it everyday. It had a garlic butter sauce with mushrooms and homemade sausage...not a fan of red pizza sauce. It was so good. Hubs and Fran had meatball calzones and they like the gluten free pizza too. We had a salad, grapes, diet Pepsi and for dessert peppermint cookies with a latte.

Made it last night so leftovers, right?
I made plenty so have put some in the freezer. The rain is back and everything but the corn and canned tomatoes was fresh - so it is really hitting the spot!

My son is convinced that he hates minestrone ... but if I call it vegetable soup with beans, he'll not only eat it, he'll cook it too. It was good by any name ...
