make us tourtiere for a special occasion. Only time I've had it homemade. It was wonderful. But it is still pretty special when you get it store bought too.

And yes you want to taste the spices so do not eat it hot. I like it cold too. But you want to make sure to not leave too much fat in the pie. Leave some though. Maybe Google several recipes to see how much fat different recipes leave in when the meat is cooking. That would be the tricky part.

growing up we used to have it on Christmas eve. Many in my family eat it w/ ketchup, but I always liked it w/ gravy.
