I'm having the lamb roast that the RG made for me for Christmas. Red wine to go with. It has vegetables with it: carrots, potatoes, celery. I can hardly wait!
Fresh baked cheddar dill biscuits.
For dessert, fresh blackberries with mascarpone.
Last night my friend fixed salmon, asparagus, and couscous. The salmon was a very large piece and I should never have had all of it but it was so good I couldn't stop. Needless to say, no room for dessert, for which I had made baked apples and raspberry walnut topping. We had a great time even though her teenage daughter seemed a bit put off by having to spend time with adults. I mean--they try--but they're not fooling anybody.

This morning pumpkin spiced pancakes on our camping chef grill with grilled apples. Also fruit cup!
This afternoon Lentil vegetable soup and applesauce cake. (My mother's lost recipe. Pm me for the recipe)
Broccoli and cauliflower, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, fresh baked dinner rolls. I'm not sure of the rest. The ham is one of the spiral cut ones and was deeply discounted. When I bought it I had visions of bean soup, not Christmas dinner.
FLFC is wandering around the house with a twitching nose reminding me that something is smelling good. Arf, arf, pause, and arf, arf from a different location.

(1,706 posts)It was sunny here and it was nice to eat in the bright dining room. We had ham, twice baked potatoes, broccoli with Hollandaise, and flan for dessert. Just snacking on leftovers for dinner.

(2,302 posts)I cooked the dish I used to request from my mother: potted steak...thin round steak browned and cooked slowly in broth. With carrots and peas over egg noodles. Yum!
