What's for Dinner, Fri., Mar. 3, 2019

Papusas filled with pork. Accompaniment is squiggly noodles, also with bits of pork.

Baby bok choy sauteed in sesame oil with garlic.

Tossed greens with sliced kohlrabi, carrots, red striped pepper, and scallion.

Dessert: very thin almond cookies with tea.

Buttered & roasted carrots with pecan pieces, and cukes in sour cream. I had leftovers to clean up.

Hot decafe tea.

My father is selling his house in the Florida panhandle and moving to an assisted living apartment near my sister in Massachusetts. This evening, his neighbors threw a goodbye party for him and the food was amazing!

Three kinds of meatballs
Four different salads
Fresh tortillas with salsa
Chili with all the fixings
Pigs in the blanket
Mini pizzas
A huge vegetable platter with three kinds of dips
Roast beef
Sliced ham
Seared tuna
Chowder
Onion soup
Cookies
Brownies
Cupcakes

He has really nice neighbors and they're sad to see him leave after the 25 years since he and my late mother moved here.

It's a work night for TJ so it's just me and the dog.

Small portions of leftover -
Chicken fried steak
mashed potatoes
lima beans

A fresh tossed salad with spinach. I might add boiled egg and cheese.

----------------

FLFC has not arisen, but I'm planning to give him some steak trimmings we saved from the rib eyes.

I had Steak Mexicano Christmas style (red and green chile) rice and beans and two house Margaritas. steak was pretty good, drinks were good sized, plenty of booze but ugh sour mix or whatever syrupy green colored goo is not my favorite. very friendly service, old style diner. it was fun. I have a picture of their funky mural on my now bricked phone, will try to recover in a few days.
