It hasnt actually started snowing yet, but Ive been to the grocery store and plan to cook all day. Dough is rising for bagels, chocolate is melting for brownies, and Im considering whether I want to make beef stew in my InstantPot.

(29,704 posts)still edible later in the week? I've tried paper - it dries out, I've tried plastic - it makes the crust soggy. I don't want to freeze them, but I could, if that's the way to go.
Thanks for your help in this very pressing matter.

(3,579 posts)The morning before I use then I thaw them on a rack. About an hour before I use them, I put them in a 170 degree oven for 20 minutes or so, and then remove them to cool once more.
This process works well for me, but you have to remember to thaw them on a wire rack for 4 or 5 hours at room temp, or they are kinda icy in the middle.

(2,125 posts)we were so enthusiastic we decided to double the recipe. Unfortunately, we had more dough than we could make into bagels before they rose too much - still great, though!
ENJOY!
